Wrigley, here we come!
Yay! I just got our tickets to the Cubs game that we are going to on May 10th — it’s a day game, too! I am so excited. I can’t wait to sing the 7th inning stretch with Cubs fans again. This will be my second time to good old Wrigley, but Peat’s first. I opted not to risk being shut out of the bleachers, plus it’s always good to have another view of the field. The first time I was at Wrigley, I sat in the bleachers with my friend Mary Beth. It was one of the best days ever! Ask her, she agrees! And while that day will probably never be recreated, I have to say I am so happy to be able to experience Wrigley with my guy. I love sharing my favorite things with Peat. So, at about 1:20 pm Portland time on May 10th, start singing the 7th inning stretch, you will probably be singing it with us!

It’s Opening Day!
My favorite day of the year is finally here — it’s baseball time again. No more messing around with the gridiron or peach baskets. It’s time for grass, dirt and grit as the boys of summer inspire us with their bottom of the ninth, two out, full count game-winning hits or game-ending full count strikeouts. I love the way this season smells, the way it sounds, the way it feels to sit in the sun and watch a game — it’s cool at first, then it heats up and cool again as your nerves take over your circulatory system as each team flirts with destiny in the late innings. If you want a daily baseball blog fix, you must tune into Mariner Housewife. She loves those M’s which is great for us NW loyalists, but she loves the game even more. The ultimate fan and one of my best friends, Moira brings the goods on a regular basis for the Seattle P-I.
P.S. I love dashboard widgets for Macs! I just found the greatest widget for baseball season. Behold Scoreboard! I think I’m going to like it here!
